The Tree of Life Pre Review

The Tree of Life, written and directed by Terrence Malick, appears to be promising movie after showing at the Cannes Film Festival. With its strong resemblance to movies such as 2001: A Space Odyssey and The Fountain, this is one movie that seems as though it is unique in its style.

Not much is known about the film other than it revolves around a family in the 1950’s. It also has several scenes related to early life on Earth, such as dinosaurs, and also stylized visuals of the Big Bang.

With music composed by Alexandre Desplat (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The King’s Speech), and cinematography by Emmanuel Lubezki (Children of Men), this is one film that is sure to be both a simple and complex work of art.
